Although primarily self-taught, I attended San Jacinto College and The Art Institute of Houston. My works have been exhibited in various forums including recent shows at The University Museum at Texas Southern University, The Glassell, and The Community Artists' Collective (all sponsored by the Museum of Fine Arts Houston – MFAH)
My works have also been on display at One and Two Allen Center, The Continental Building, Betz Gallery, the Art League, the Watercolor Art Society, BLUEorange, and The Art Movement (Houston, Texas), and included in the 2013 Painted Violin Tour at Sorenson Studio, Boling Gallery, Fresno Art Hub, Margaret Hudson Studio (Fresno, California).
Donated artworks have helped raise money for the Youth Orchestras of Fresno 2013 Painted Violin Auction in Fresno, CA, and over $5,000 for cancer research at auction through The Lance Armstrong Foundation's Livestrong Gala.
My medium is broad. I work in oils, watercolors, as well as sculpt and utilize other materials in mixed media pieces. My commissions include paintings, murals, clothing, and instruments
Dannye is both an artist and an avid cyclist. He has merged his love for both art and cycling with the piece "Five." I can't ride a bike into history but I can swing a brush for a cure. This is my contribution to the fight against cancer. Having lost several members of his family to cancer, the painting and cause are close to Dannye's heart. "Five" was painted, dedicated and donated in honor of: Alfred Sander Sr. (grandfather)-Prostate cancer; Bruce Edward Turner (1st cousin)-lung cancer; and in loving memory of John W. Jones
